Marin Cricket Club is an all-inclusive cricket club and members are expected when playing or attending games the club is taking part in, at any venue, members to behave with decency, respect, and to play the game in a fun, harmonious way.
While we encourage competitive cricket, our main focus is to give everyone a great day's cricket, with participation and fellowship.
General disruption, or behavior deemed unsavoury by the game day captain or any present Executive Member will enforce necessary discipline, including removing the player from the game, or asking the player to leave the field.
Behavior that is deemed disrespectful, or against the spirit of the game will not be tolerated. Such behavior includes:
- Using racial slurs or swearing.
- Any sort of violent acts whatsoever.
- Being disrespectful to any player, umpire or spectator.
- Excessive shouting or appealing, including over exuberant whistling or calling.
- Making derogatory comments to another player, umpire or spectator.
In the event of such an incident, the game day captain must make a report to the Executive Committee for immediate review.
Depending on the severity of the offense, the Executive Committee may approve sanctions such as the following:
- A ban on the member playing or attending games for a set period of time or for life.
- Loss of club membership, which is for instance the action to be expected if a member refuses to leave the field when asked to do so by a game day captain or Executive Member.
